Lisa Lempp

My career as a handbag designer began in 1999, when I started working as a pattern maker, cutter and workshop assistant for Mishal Katz in Buenos Aires. Over the years, a host of coincidences brought me to Barcelona, where I started working with Lluís Generó and, with his help, in 2007, I set up my own bag and accessories store “Capricho de Muñeca”. In 2018, I decided to change my brand name to Lisa lempp. This more personal approach helped me to reinforce the concept of my brand: a close, artisan, sustainable and local brand.
I conceive and make all my designs in my shop-workshop located in the Born district, Barcelona.
Design timeless, functional and durable bags, under the concept slow fashion. I bet on local design, artisan know-how and local production. Thus, I strive for traceability to the maximum.
From this simmering production process, handbags and small leather goods are born in limited units.
What I am most passionate about is building patterns. The colors, the details of a garment, the shapes of the buildings and even the shadows catch my attention.
Most of my designs, as they are thought from the functionality, do not understand gender. They are for her, for him, for everyone.
The materials I use are recycled hides from the food industry, and cotton.
Some of the leathers I use are from vegetable tanning, a traditional leather tanning process in which only vegetable pigments are used. Vegetable tanning, by dispensing with heavy and toxic minerals, is much more natural and friendly to people and the environment.
Currently, my designs are part of four different collections: CCapricho olection, CRaw Cut selection, Syncrome Collection, and the newest of all, Cycling Collection.
Each of my bags has the purpose of accompanying you at all times, always.
All my designs are a bit the result of the story of my life and my wish is that they soon become part of yours. I hope you enjoy it.
With love,
Lisa
